Innospec replicated their application at another plant making chemicals for personal care products. The main ingredient is delivered in bulk bags. Spiroflow supplied a bulk bag unloader with an integral flexible screw conveyor to supply the reactor. 55 lb/25 kg bags of catalyst are added through the unloader’s access doors.

Case Study 3005 - Spiroflow Bulk Bag Unloader & Conveying System Accurately Dosing Chemicals for Construction Products

Faced with growing demand, Everbuild, manufacturer of building sealants, adhesives & fillers, installed a new mixer alongside an existing machine. They then needed to load bulk materials & minor additives into both mixers. Spiroflow supplied a loss-in-weight bulk bag unloader to dispense accurate quantities. Minor additives, are loaded through an adjacent bag dump station.

Technical Data Sheet 8001 - Bag Dump Stations

The basic bag dump station includes an open fronted bag dump cabinet with a dust extraction outlet for connection to a separate dust collector or existing extraction plant. A bag is placed on the mesh support shelf and manually slit. The contents fall directly into the inlet of a flexible screw, aero mechanical or vacuum conveyor. The type and size of the conveyor is determined by the flow rate, conveying distance and flow properties of the product.
